AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
A recently issued regulation will allow domestic Chinese investors to make investments in the civil aviation industry.
Yuan Yaohui, director of the policy and law department of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC), has said that the industry is a capital-intense one and that the civil aviation sector that was opened to foreign investors in 2002 will now be opened further, Beijing Daily reported.
Domestic capital will reportedly be welcomed in areas such as civil airport construction, jet fuel sales and storage, aircraft maintenance, cargo service, air-food production and computer-based air-ticket booking systems, while air traffic control systems will remain closed to private investors.
